Why Fly Annin Flags?

By: Ashley Allen

Memorial Day, Flag Day, and the 4th of July are right around the corner, so make sure that you are displaying only the best, American-made flags for your homes, businesses, and events!

Annin creates flags right in America. It is the oldest and largest flag maker in the United States, creating anywhere from historical flags to state flags, international flags to flags of special interest, and they even create custom flags.

During this Memorial day if you see POW or MIA flags out and about, they were first created by the Annin company. They were first designed and created in 1979 in collaboration with the National League of Families of POW/MIA.

Did you know that Annin flags were the first to be on the moon? The Apollo 11 mission resulted in Astronaut Neil Armstrong walking on the moon for the first time and proudly planting an American Flag–an Annin American Flag.

Annin has been a part of many historical moments throughout American history. There were Annin flags present at President Abraham Lincoln’s inauguration, as well laid upon his casket when he passed. The flag planted at Iwo Jima by the U.S. Marines in 1945 also was an Annin flag!

Not only is Annin one of the largest flag-making corporations in the world, but they are also a 6th generation family-owned company. They have three factories throughout America, including one in Coshocton, Ohio! Each factory focuses on different aspects of the flag-making process and Coshocton is preparation for patriotic events with hand-held flags, bunting, fans, among many other awesome products.

Annin flags can only be picked up through a dealer. That means that you cannot go to the factory to purchase flags! Luckily, Coshocton Supply Co. is open daily 10am – 5pm and carries only Annin flags and can fill last minute needs before all of those flag-flying holidays!
